A fully configurable and manageable sales application was initially developed in 1981 under the name of DistribuNet 2100. DistribuNet 2100 was based on CP/M operating systems and StarLAN networks back in the days when Mainframes ruled the planet and most people didn't even know what a PC was or even a Network. During the evolution of the application, we moved it to DOS and Token Ring Networks and the name ATLANTIS was born. Development in the early days were painful since there were few file handlers, ATLANTIS built it's own file handling systems also in those days based on an ISAM concept.
ATLANTIS is currently a complete rewrite using MySQL and PHP. The current versions take 20 years of development experience and many more years of sales experience based on concepts and proven techniques of sales management right to fulfillment and accounting. The development platforms were chosen for several reasons, since in the beginning we were dependant on a specific platform such as Windows; we found that "bloatware" was causing our customers to continuously increase systems and memory to meet the demands of the operating systems. Also, with security today being a bigger concern than ever before, we needed a more crack proof base to lock down your company's important data.
